Another Level

Every beautiful home is more complete with a pool. The pristine grounds of this home are filled with lush gardening and landscaping, as well as an extensive lawn on a hill. See how we transformed the space by adding an out-of-this-world water element.

As you can see, there's plenty of room back here in this serene, private environment. But what to do about that hill? Normally we'd have to excavate and level the yard. But in this case, what if we incorporate the hill into the design, so that pool and land become one? Keep scrolling to find out how we accomplished the ultimate magic trick. 

Just to give you an idea of how steep their hill is, here's a side angle showing the fence climbing a pretty steep grade. 

The property line goes as far back as that fence. There's some pretty gardening back there, and plenty of room to sit and enjoy a picnic under the trees. So we wanted to connect that to our design and give them one more element to enjoy, without interrupting the flow. Keep viewing the gallery to watch the project come to life.

A truly unique concept, instead of leveling the hill, we build right into it for a seamless and unreal experience. This pool will actually be part of the hill when it's finished!

All of the above! As you can see we are completing custom stone and masonry work to build this structure right into the side of this hill, but we're also laying sod so that the stairs have plush, grassy landings for a natural element. Instead of a contemporary hard pool deck surface, these clients opted for a natural experience — allowing the grassy garden surroundings to be the pool deck, truly combining the best of both worlds.

Our custom masonry and trim work will be the features that really make this "in-ground" pool stand out! 

Sure, right now it just looks like a bunch of steps and sod, but when you've got the vision, it's easy to imagine how breathtaking this project will end up to be.

Here it starts to become apparent that we're literally building an "in-ground" pool in every sense of the word. By setting this pool into the hillside, the natural steps take care of the elevation issue while the water feature is nestled into the lush lawn, creating the most tranquil experience.

While we were building, we had to tear up the grounds a little bit, which left the yard looking disjointed and barren. After repairing it with some lush green sod, once again we see this expansive, continuous yard with a flow between the gardening elements and the integrated water feature for a captivating, memorable and one-of-a-kind experience. 

This project is just so different, it's hard to imagine an environment more unique and tranquil than this! I'm sure their guests were impressed!

Nestled right into the hillside, this pretty in-ground pool boasts its own grassy surround, with natural "steps" leading up the terrace to the garden level for continuity and multi-faceted enjoyment. 

In the previous photos you could see that the lawn was all torn up around the pool area where we were working, but here it is once again intact! The whole area now has a great flow, and the pool provides architectural interest and a pretty view for anyone having a picnic in the garden or just enjoying this peaceful outdoor setting.

Seriously, this home feels like its own private retreat! Building the pool into the hill allowed us to preserve the natural state of these grounds, as you can see towards the back of the picture where it's still hilly. The pool is a wonderful addition to this landscape, not an interruption. 

And here's what the pool terrace looks like from the other end of the property — it almost looks like a monument! It's amazing how a structure with such magnitude and architectural impact can be so simple and fit so nicely with the flow of the yard.
